Choosing to work with Justine and her team at Midwest Doulas was the best decision I could have made for me, my birth, my husband and my baby. Throughout my pregnancy Justine was always available for my questions no matter how big or small. She and her team are experienced, skilled and knowledgeable, always offering clear and meaningful answers. In addition to her own team, Midwest Doulas has a wide network of resources that Justine is happy to make available to clients (i.e., birth-ed, massage therapy, lactation consultation, etc.). Each extended member of her team was as great to work with as Midwest Doulas!
I felt peace of mind knowing that Justine has a group of backup doulas that she personally vouches for.I had full confidence in each doula I met with! Midwest Doulas also provided support in documenting and writing my birth preferences for my labor. During my labor, Justine was critical in helping me communicate with hospital staff (i.e., nurses and OB). She was my advocate at times I was under great stress and pressure ensuring that the OB (who I had not worked with throughout my pregnancy) understood my birth preferences. Throughout my labor Justine was honest, direct and I felt like she always had my best interests in mind. She also ensured that my birthing partner, my husband, was supported throughout my labor as well. Justine was in lock step with my husband throughout the entire process and truly coached him though my labor as well.
Thanks to Justine’s support and encouragement, I was able to have the unmedicated labor I had hoped for and can tell a birth story I’m proud of because I know that the choices I made were right for me and my baby. I would recommend Justine and her team to any and every parent (both birthing person and birthing partner!) out there looking to build their bench for support though pregnancy, labor and beyond.
