Maria was a great help, both before, during, and after the birth of my first child. She presented me with a variety of positive coping strategies for a natural birth, which I was able to accomplish. Her steady, calm, compassionate presence helped get me through painful back labor. She stayed right with me and helped me breathe and change positions, and it made all the difference. It is wonderful that she follows up after the birth and is such a resource of breastfeeding information. I highly recommend her to anyone considering hiring a doula. I don't think my birth experience would have gone nearly as well without her.
