Testimonial for Kelly Sunshine CD(DONA)
Having Kelly as our doula for the birth of our first baby was the best decision my husband and I made during my pregnancy. My husband said that he would have paid quadruple what we paid to have Kelly there. As first-time parents, there were so many parts of labor and delivery that were unknown to us, and it was such a comfort knowing Kelly's vast experience and knowledge in that world. Kelly is so warm and kind, while also extremely knowledgable and capable in what can sometimes be a high-stress situation. She supported us so well as I was laboring with excellent coaching and encouragement for both me and my husband. When my labor progressed quicker than I had originally thought, she rushed to the hospital to arrive before us and figure out parking, a wheelchair, and checking in. She communicated with our midwife so that she also knew when to arrive as well. There were so many other behind the scenes things I know Kelly did, and I didn't have to worry about any of it because she was there. Because of Kelly's efforts, what could have been a stressful final part of labor was pretty seamless. Kelly also took gorgeous photos of the labor and delivery and captured priceless moments for us that we never would have seen otherwise, including our baby's first minutes in the world. She also wrote out the timeline of events from when the labor started to our baby's birth, which was so much fun to read and relive with my husband a few days after the birth. Overall, I think everyone should have a doula for their birth to make it more enjoyable and manageable, but I can't imagine there is anyone better than Kelly.
