There is no better feeling than finding that person you trust to care for your newborn baby. When my husband and I were struggling with sleep deprivation, and later on post partum maternal health issues, we called on Brittany to provide overnight postpartum doula support. I had struggled leaving my baby with anyone before that point, but the wisdom beyond her years and confidence with all types of newborns that Brittany possesses allowed this first time mama to fully rest. That’s not something you find every day! We knew she'd follow our wishes to pace bottle feed (something that not all people are willing/understand how to do by the way!!) as well as snuggle and care for our baby as if he was her own. It truly was a miracle and was SO restorative to get those full nights of rest in the thick of those first few weeks with baby – and we have Brittany to thank for that!!
Beyond overnights Brittany has also given invaluable educational and emotional support – she’s the person I text right away with “is this normal??” questions, as well as a trustworthy person to express my fears and difficult feelings to around parenthood. You really NEVER know what being a mom is like until you become one, and Brittany is truly the best resource I have had during this massive life transition. We are so thankful to her for all the support she has given our family and will be calling her up to book her ahead of time if we have another baby!!
