Testimonial for Anna Isaiko
Anna was our birth doula and we couldn’t be happier with the support she provided. We had a few sessions where Anna prepared us for the birthing experience and we did consistent check-ins as we were getting closer to the due date. When my water broke at midnight, she picked up the phone after one ring and helped me calm down and think of the next steps. When I was in active labor, Anna was very supportive for both myself and my husband. She helped with breathing, did some exercises with me and helped me remain calm and empowered. We planned for a natural birth but after 14 hours of labor our baby’s heart rate started dropping, so we had to do an emergency c-section which was a terrifying experience on its own (in the end, our baby boy was fine and I’ve been recovering slowly but steadily), but she continued to remain calm, patient and supportive for us. After the delivery, Anna helped us with the first feeding and latching, showed us a few feeding positions, including those best for moms after a c-section, which was extremely helpful. A few days after the delivery, Anna came to our house to check on me and the baby, again helped with latching, and gave some helpful tips and suggestions for the brand new parents. Our birth did not go according to the plan (do they ever?), but she was there to support us and adjust with us. Anna really did help us with the whole experience, from the getting ready time to the recovery. We are so happy we met her and had her as our doula!
