Our original doula cancelled on us last minute. We do not have a ton of family and friends in the area, so we knew that securing a doula was the best option.
We had a baby coming home from NICU soon and I was referred by a friend to a website that put in contact with Meri. Our first interaction was via email she was accepting, reassuring,and positive. I explained our situation and she responded ready to learn more. I could tell that our vibes would match so I asked her to come help our family.
At our first meeting she jumped right in as soon as she walked in the door. She beganhelping me nurse, giving me reassurance that I can do this, providing tips on how to be successful in breastfeeding. She made sure we got our much needed rest by playing with our kitties to make sure they didn't bother us all while she took care of our LO. When times got tough Meri was there to work with us she was listening ear, sounding board, and she always responds quickly to my text messsges. In day and age that means a lot for a new mom who feels like she just can't be certain. I feel that Meri was an amazing match for our family and wouldn't trade her for the world!
