With my second baby, I chose to have a homebirth and I knew I didn't want to do it without a doula. Kelly encapsulated my placenta with my first, so she was my first call. I had some anxieties about my homebirth espeically after having a traumatic experience in between babies. Kelly was so understanding and encouraging and supportive. We hired her that day!
Throughout the entire process, Kelly has been an invaluable resource. At one point she and I had a miscommunication and she handled it with such graciousness, understanding and love. She made me feel so comfortable. My labor progressed very quickly and she got to me as I started to transition. The minute she walked in the door she was helping me through the pain, reminding me to breathe and encouraging me every step of the way. In moments of anxiety, I looked to her for comfort and she was always there with a wink, a smile or a word of support. I don't know how I had my first child without her and I can't imagine having my second without her.
