Kelly Sunshine has been my doula for 3 babies. Before I was pregnant the first time, I knew I would want a doula when the day came to have a baby. I looked into my options and easily landed on Kelly Sunshine. She has so much experience, raving reviews and is well known and loved in the Phoenix birth community. She ensured that I was informed and empowered through my 3 very different births. As a full time veterinary student, I had different goals for each birth based on our circumstances and she always worked with me to explore all options and make whatever I decided possible. Kelly can move mountains for her clients. I was successful in 2 unmedicated hospital births and 1 home birth, thanks to her support. I have told all my pregnant friends that a doula is a must for birth, regardless of the type of birth or goals. Even if I had a planned, scheduled C-section, I would have Kelly by my side. Since witnessing Kelly support me, my mom and husband even tell everyone about the necessity of doulas! This is a big deal, because prior to my first birth, they were both confused on the role of a doula. Now they can't recommend it enough. During labor and delivery, Kelly helped both of them support me to the level I described to her ahead of time. They appreciated having clear direction in an intense situation, otherwise full of unknowns (if Kelly wasn't there). I have loved all 3 of my birth experiences even when things didn't go as planned. I genuinely feel that it's because I was supported, informed and empowered by having Kelly present. I trust Kelly whole-heartedly and cannot recommend her enough!
