Justine and her Midwest Doulas team came recommended to me from a trusted mama community on Facebook as well as my OB. I was looking for a doula for the birth of my second child, determined to have a more connected, positive experience than I did with my first, especially after a profoundly challenging first 20 weeks of pregnancy that had me feeling so weak and unsure of my inner power as a woman. I wanted to birth my second child feeling strong, empowered, and trusting in my body and my baby. Justine heard me loud and clear from the first time we spoke—she knew exactly how I felt, and that I wanted a strong, experienced, but gentle, judge-free hand to guide me towards this goal. On January 22nd, we welcomed our second daughter with an intensely quick, utterly powerful, beautiful unmedicated birth. I cannot stress enough how big of a part Justine played in this life-changing experience. All of my perceived weakness and self-doubt that built up during my pregnancy forever washed way because of what she helped me to do, which was really just accessing my inner strength and innate capabilities as a woman and mother. It’s clear that she and her team love what they do and really feel honored to help us as women through one of the most amazing things we do in our lifetime.
