I have deep gratitude for Telia and her support during my pregnancy and birth experience. I had had a miscarriage a couple months before becoming pregnany with my daughter, and Telia helped me understand and accept how that loss was affecting my current pregnancy. For my birth experience, Telia was equally superb. I had planned a hospital birth with an epidural, but had not planned on being induced at 41 weeks. As a first time mom being induced, I expected my labor to be very slow but it was quite the opposite. Without Telia there, my birth experience easily could have felt chaotic, scary, and overwhelming. But Telia helped both me and my partner understand what was happening and meet the situation with our best selves. It is because of Telia that I feel very positice and proud of my birth experience.
Telia is the best of the best. She was described to me as "the doula's doula" because of her deep experience in the craft and how other doulas go to her for support and advice. Her deep experience was very important to me because she has spent a significant amount of time working as a doula in a hospital setting, which was something I was looking for given my birth plan.
