I got pregnant with my first baby & I knew that I wanted to have a doula. My ultimate goal was to have a medication free delivery. Minutes into our interview with Melissa, I felt a sense of relief & confidence. I connected with her instantly and knew that I wanted her to be a part of our journey. She answered every question both my husband and I had. She made us both so much more excited and a lot less anxious about the whole process and I loved how much she included my husband in everything. Fast forward to our prenatal meetings, endless text messages (on my part) and the amazing birth classes that she taught - I had nothing but confidence to have a baby, my anxiety was pretty much non-existent. She helped me to feel so strong & empowered !! I was actually EXCITED to give birth. Towards the end of my pregnancy I had elevated BP and I was worried about having pre-eclampsia. Melissa and my husband spoke often to help him, help me to be less worried about it. She was a savior to my husband and his anxiety levels as well. The morning my water broke I texted Melissa & she called me instantly . She devoted every minute of the day to me and was in constant contact until she arrived at the hospital. She and I created a birth plan, and again I had a sense of relief that I had an advocate (as well as my husband) to ensure the plan was followed as much as it could be! Whenever I was becoming a little overwhelmed or felt a little out of control during labor I looked to Melissa & she helped bring me back into my positive mindset.Melissa does SO much to ensure that you have a positive birthing experience. I am actually looking forward to having another baby & to go through labor again. I never thought I would say that, but I know Melissa is the reason. If you are looking for a doula, BOOK HER if she has availability.. you will not find anyone better !! We love her so much !
