I was a first time mom and really wanted to do everything I could to minimize the amount of physical damage during my birth experience (i.e., tearing). I found Joli and she was a rockstar in every way before, during, and after the birth. I give her a 10 out of 10 and would definitely use her for any future births as well!
Specifically, my husband and I vibed well with her personality and had good chemistry with her. She was friendly, supportive, very responsive, and patient. During the actual birth was when she really shined. I ended up having a 9 hour labor total (from the start of contractions at home through delivery) and managed to do it without an epidural and with only a couple very minor first degree tears! Goal achieved! In fact I'm only 9 days out and am already off ibuprofen and feeling nearly healed downstairs. I most definitely could not have achieved that without Joli. She gave incredible verbal instructions for me and my husband, did absolutely anything that was needed to make sure I was comfortable, and just having her there to put what was happening in context and provide reassurance and guidance was extremely helpful for my mental state. She also had great techniques for interacting with the hospital staff in a way that advocated for me without being abnoxious or pushy.
100% would recommend Joli to anyone looking to have a great birth experience!
