When I found out I was pregnant I knew I wanted to have the most natural birth experience possible. I became obsessed with Hypnobirthing books, birth documentaries, and wanted as much education as I could get my hands on!
I was always interested in doula services as well but due to COVID hospital restrictions, I wasn’t sure I would be able to have that luxury. That being said I had heard about Emily through a friend and did a little research to find out that she offered private childbirth education classes. I booked a class with her, she came to my house and taught my husband and I a very thorough, well executed class! She was very professional and kind and easy to talk to. She also has a very calming voice and manner about her. When she left I asked my husband what he thought and he said “I think she’s the type of person you definitely want with you as a part of your birth team” and I instantly agreed. We ended up hiring her for her doula services and we were blown away with how helpful she was!
From early labor through the golden hour she was there, hands on but also hands off enough to allow my husband to be my main support person. She was exactly what I wanted and needed to help me achieve the birth I desired. I truly believe she is a huge reason my birth was such a positive experience. She also came over for a postpartum visit and brought a slideshow of photos she had taken that are absolutely priceless to me. I highly highly highly recommend her to anyone considering a doula. She is worth every penny and then some!
