Barbie is an amazing human and doula. As a healthcare professional, I already had a good understanding of the medical system and birthing process and was unsure if I needed/wanted a doula. The concept of having someone that I did not know well with me during labor and delivery was somewhat uncomfortable to me. I am SO glad I decided to get a doula, and more importantly to work with Barbie. Even though we met a few times before labor and delivery, she made me feel at ease, she was quick to respond to my message, she was reliable, and caring. She also has a calming presence and she is a great listener. Without judgement she listened to some of my concerns and my partners concerns prior and during birth. In particular, I appreciated her expertise and her knowledge of resources in the area. One of the most calming aspects was her ability to tactfully help us advocate for ourselves, and navigate very challenging decisions and situations during labor and delivery. She was able to intuitively attend and meet the needs of our family during labor and delivery. She was a great support to my partner when I was feeling exhausted during labor and delivery, and could not be there for him. That provided much relief, I knew he was well taken care of with Barbie's support. We had a challenging labor and delivery period and without her support I am sure we would be feeling more overwhelmed by the experience today. Thank you Barbie for all you do. I recommend Barbie without hesitation.
