Barbie came into our lives when I was 32 weeks pregnant with our first child. I met with several doulas in my search for a support person. When I met with Barbie I immediately
decided to welcome her into my birth space. Barbie is a kind, thoughtful and intuitive person and these qualities shone from the moment we met via zoom.
Barbie was there with us every step of the way right up until the birth of our son. She helped me develop a birth plan that I felt 100% comfortable with - a plan tailored to my specific needs and not altered to fit what the general expectation was.
Barbie helped advocate for our family and also served as a wonderful educator. She helped us learn more about the birth and post partum journey and this helped me feel empowered in my role as a soon to be parent. She helped us navigate through some pretty challenging situations that arose during the end of my pregnancy that required me to completely change my birth plan. Barbie made every effort to support me as much as she could. There were weeks when I called her multiple times sometimes for sound advice and sometimes just to vent and she was always there. Every single time!
She continued to check up on me and my family after birth and connected me with resources that were so very helpful as a new mom. Our family is grateful for her kindness and wisdom! I strongly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a birth support person!
