Laurie is an amazing doula and is the reason that we were able to have such a wonderful experience meeting our second son. After a less than optimal labor experience with our first born, I knew I wanted to have a doula this time to help with navigating labor and all of its potential curve balls, and to have support for me and my husband throughout the process. Before labor, Laurie helped us to think through all of our birthing options and preferences so that we were prepared going into any situation. Laurie had so many great ideas and gave such helpful cues throughout my labor. When I wasn't progressing, she had several techniques which I am fairly certain played a huge role in getting things moving. She was a great cheerleader and emotional support when things got tough. Despite this labor being long and painful (including back labor), it still felt like such an amazing experience at the end, and I felt in control the entire time. I had exactly the experience I wanted when I held my baby in my arms for the first time and felt that overwhelming sensation of love. Also, the in home postpartum massage was amazing!
