Labor and delivery was probably the reason why I was hesitant about having any more children, as being 19 with my first, 14 years ago, was a very traumatic experience. A client of mine recommended having a doula this time around. She referred me to Emily and after our first phone call, I immediately felt a huge sigh of relief and comfort, I knew she was the perfect fit and her energy and experience aligned so perfect with what my husband and I were looking for. Being as our son is our second child, and my husband’s first newborn, Emily provided all of the education we needed from pregnancy all the way through postpartum. It was not an overload of information like most Doctor’s or OB’s would provide you, but just enough for you to fully understand and be aware of and so that we would feel confident in the choices we made as we were approaching our delivery. Our birth plan did not go as how we imagined or planned, and Emily was always just a phone call away to comfort us and help us make sound decisions that we were confident with. She was never invasive, nor biased, just gave us the information and let us make the decisions. And we loved that most. She is so sweet, and kind hearted, and you can tell her heart is 100% involved with her work. If you are feeling anxious, or this is your first baby or 10th, I one million times over recommend having Emily with you on your journey! There were SO many things we didn’t know until we had her and parenting and being in week 2 of baby life feels like a breeze because of her love and preparation. Emily, you are truly annointed with your gift, and Keegan, Halen, Ava and I cannot thank you enough for the time you spent with us! I hope we can remain in touch and friends in future!
