Barbie helped me prep and was there for the birth of both of my children. If I have more children, I will want her there then too. She provides support, knowledge, confidence, and a calming presence. I can't imagine having my frist child without her. I wanted it to be unmedicated and IT WAS HARD. I was also nervous leading up to it. Barbie helped me prepare mentally for giving birth, which was just a scary abstract idea at the time. During the labor, which was long, she helped comfort me, gave my partner ideas on how to help me, brought me drinks and popsicles, talked with the nurses for me when I couldn't because there was just too much happening in my body. She seriously did so much to make my birth journey the one I wanted and one I felt in control of - as much as you can do either of those things! I cannot recommend her enough.
My second child was born during the pandemic. I was so scared of birthing alone in the hospital with a mask on. Barbie again provided guidance and knowledge of what was happening at the hospital to help ease my mind. At the hospital, she again was so supportive. I am so grateful she was on my team.
The other minor great thing about having Barbie is that she takes photos and videos of the birth and I cherish those!
I never want to give birth to a child without her there.
