Kelly was one of the best decisions we made for our birth! I felt like I was able to be open and honest with her from the beginning and that was so important to me. She also had so much experience and knowledge with the hospital we were going to deliver at, as well a the OBGYN practice that I was going to. I felt so much comfort knowing she had experience with each OB that I could technically deliver with. I was terrified of birth and delivery, and she gave me confidence that I could do this.
She gave us so much knowledge throughout the pregnancy and prenatal process- we went into the experience feeling confident that she would advocate for us and what we wanted our birth to be like. She came to the hospital immediately when I was admitted and helped me through the epidural placement, and changing positions to help progress my labor as needed. It was like having an extra nurse on hand, which was so beneficial during COVID times. I was able to progress quickly and deliver in just about 12 hours. I was scared of birth and she gave me confidence up until the very last push that everything was going to be great and pain free (which was a goal of mine!).
After the delivery, she made sure we were set up to spend the next few days recovering in post partum. She helped immediately with skin to skin, golden hour, and even breastfeeding for the first time. She gave us tips on what the next few days in the hospital would be like.
We were so happy with our decision to hire Kelly and will definitely be using her again for our next baby! It was a great first time mom birthing experience and we are thankful for Kelly to helping make sure of that.
