My labor with my first born was fast and terrifying. When I got pregnant again, I knew that I wanted my labor to be a more positive experience. It wasn't until later in my pregnancy (34 weeks) that our baby classes mentioned a doula and I knew that this was exactly what I needed.
It was a little bit of a nail-biting experience trying to find a doula so late in the game, but I got incredibly lucky with hiring Carli.
Right from the start she was so attentive and strived to give us the experience that we wanted. She made me feel reassured that I could do a natural labor again and that I had all the tools to handle the pain that goes with it.
Throughout out time together Carli was able to answer all of my questions promptly and provided me with additional resources.
When my labor started, I couldn't think of anything but the contractions. Carli quickly took charge and made sure that everyone on the team knew about my birth plan and my wishes. She coached me through the contractions and when the pain started to become overwhelming, she reassured me that it was okay for me to feel this way. This made all the difference and I was able to get through labor and give birth naturally. I have nothing but positive comments for Carli. She is definitely the person you want by your side!
