Testimonial for Melissa Duenas-Witter
I had known Melissa professionally for a while and I went through the doula match program when I got pregnant and was absolutely delighted when she was one of my matches, it was really a no brainer from there. Melissa's experience in her field coupled with her compassion and bedside manner made her the perfect doula for me and my husband. We always looked forward to our prenatal appts (something that it seems like not all doulas offer). Her childbirth education was second to none; we both learned so much and were very well equipped to navigate through my first pregnancy together. She was available when I needed her, always providing thoughtful and educated responses. Due to covid Yale was not allowing doulas (which I found to be extremely unfortunate and a huge detriment to all birthing people and families at Yale), so we didn't get to have her there during my birth. I would have really liked her there for that in person, but she was available virtually when we needed her. The prep work we did prior to my birth, though, really set me and my husband up for as much success as possible during my birth without being able to have her there. Melissa also does a post natal appt, which I think it super important and, again, we really looked forward to it. Cannot recommended Birth Tribe and Melissa enough. 100% using Melissa for baby #2!
