Jaime is an amazing doula, she is kind, knowledgeable and very professional. Initially, Jamie was our backup doula, but then our doula had a family emergency just 2 weeks before my due date. I remember thinking that I would never be able to establish a relationship with a doula in just 2 weeks, but then Jamie and I spoke, and I understood that everything would be just fine, that’s the kind of confidence she gave me, and when you are going to birth a child, that’s all you need, support, knowledge and confidence.
I didn’t labor at home because there was no time for that, but Jaime met me at the hospital from the beginning, and she reassured me of the process, gave me the confidence to stick to my own decisions, provided me with comfort and kindness, and calmed me down when there was pressure from the staff to do things in a rushed way. This was my second child, and on the first birth I didn’t have a doula, and I can tell you that my labor was almost perfect the first time, but I know that if I had had Jaime there, I am sure the only thing I didn’t like about my birth wouldn’t have happened. This time, Jaime was there and it was very close to perfection again. After the birth, Jaime was always available to talk to me and her visit in that first week of post-partum was essential! When I look back and think about her presence on my labor, I smile, because she really was part of it in a way that made me shine and birth with a different confidence. I am forever thankful for having had Jamie with us.
