Kelly was a godsend! I was attempting an unmedicated vba3c and I found a provider who would let me attempt it. I asked my OB what else I should do to prepare to try and have a successful vbac. He suggested getting a doula. Kelly came highly recommended. I was on the fence of whether I thought it would be worth it. Seriously, definitely 100% worth it! I told my husband that I don't think we would've had a successful vbac if she wasn't there to support, guide, & coach us. He fully agreed. From the consult to our 1st meeting to our time in the hospital, Kelly had the energy & expertise that I wanted & needed. For whatever reason my strong, consistent contractions didn't start until she got to the hospital. I think they were waiting for her. Lol! When she arrived she immediately came to help me get through each one. She knew when it would be good for me to get into different positions or be in different locations to labor. There's no way I could have made all those decisions on my own or had the energy to think about stuff while going through labor. I am thankful that Kelly was there & I could follow her lead & suggestions. She knows what she's doing & worked well w/ the hospital staff & my OB. A point came when I was pushing & there was a chance I needed to transition to a c-section. I was also almost ready to give up & wondered if I should transition. That's when Kelly kicked into high gear & really encouraged, coached, pushed, and believed in me to finish the race. She was aweseome! She knew what I needed and I am so grateful she helped me to the end to get the birth that I wanted. Kelly was "on it" for the big things, and the "smaller" things like having music ready or a having a towel with essential oils to help soothe & calm, or offering me food and water. I am forever grateful for Kelly & how supportive she was in the whole process! I am so glad that I decided to invest in a doula and specifically her!
