Testimonial for Alyx Cucci
A Doula, to me, should embody strength, serenity, joy, tenderness and a deep intuition in the process of birth. Alyx is exactly that. There was a moment, deep in the throes of labor and nearing transition, where my husband left for a moment and it was just Alyx and I in my dimly lit bedroom. I was laboring over a yoga ball on the ground and I could feel Alyx holding such a presence. She started reading a birth poem, call it a prayer or a meditation or spiritual offering. While she read it, she would sometimes pause while I had a contraction, and sometimes continue reading during the contraction. It is one of my favorite memories from my labor, simply because she knew exactly how to tend to me in that moment.
Alyx has the spirit and wisdom of many birthing ancestors within her, and I'm so grateful she was there for me, my baby and my family.
