I started my doula search with low hopes of finding anyone since I had such a late start (29 weeks ?? ) I interviewed 3 and connected most with Kendra. We had 2 prenatal visits in which she helped my write my birth plan and we discussed my birth wishes at length. The day of, I was in communication with Kendra from the very beginning. She would give me different ideas to try since my labor was stalling. When she came to my place to help me labor, she Was able to read me to know when I couldn’t take more and suggested we go to the hospital. I don’t know how but she was even MORE helpful at the hospital. She made sure I ate, explained options to my husband and I and was so patient with me, even when I panicked and lost control. She always patiently got me back on track. I had a long labor and she stayed until the very end. My husband was initially not on board with hiring a doula but by the end of the birth he was singing her praises to anyone who would listen. To put things simply, Kendra is worth her weight in gold and I will definitely be hiring her again if I have another child.
