My husband and I decided to hire a doula for the birth of our second child, and were so lucky to find Kim. We immediately felt a connection with her during our first meeting- she was kind, knowledgeable and personable. And most importantly, a great listener/communicator. Kim provided a wealth of resources and support to prepare for labor. Her encouragement and guidance during early labor kept me feeling calm and strong, allowing me to progress through much of my labor at home (this was through phone/text- we had planned for her to physically come support me at home, but I was feeling good connecting with my own body and following my intuition at home with my family). When it was time, Kim met us at the hospital and helped create a calm and intimate atmosphere. She provided a great balance of physical and verbal support, and helped my husband do the same. I can still hear her saying “You’re doing it” in response to me saying “I can’t.” I ended up with the unmedicated birth I had hoped for and felt so powerful and strong!
We are so grateful for Kim’s gentle guidance throughout our journey to welcoming our son into this world.
