I am so glad we chose Angela to be our doula. She was so helpful and attentive before, during, and after our birth. From the very first time we interviewed her, we knew she would be the perfect match for us. We hired Angela for our second home birth to not only be a doula to me, but to also take our photos and to assist our older son while I was in labor so my partner could give me his full attention. Being a mom herself, she seamlessly fit into this role, multitasking her duties with grace and a sense of calm and ease - a critical trait in the labor space. I hardly noticed when she was photographing me and the photos and moments she was able to capture were incredibly beautiful. She is truly a talented photographer!
During my pregnancy, I worked with a physical therapist to help with the discomfort and pain I was experiencing. Angela was very eager to learn about the ways she could help with that discomfort during my labor, connecting with my physical therapist and soaking up all the tips and techniques that were being passed on to her. She made sure to check in and connect with me as my due date crept closer. I felt very confident that she would be there if and when I needed her, and that was reassuring. She offered the use of a tens unit during my labor, and that helped me immensely through my contractions - I highly recommend trying it!
