THE best doula you'll ever hire hands down! We hired Sarah with our 6th child and our birth story will forever be magical because of her! After having an emotionally traumatic birth with our 5th child I knew that we needed something different with our 6th.
I had a lot of anxiety from my last birth as well as I went into pre-term labor months before our edd. Sarah was there every step of the way. She listened and really heard me when I was scared to go through labor again. She offered suggestions, guidance and personal experience that helped!
She honored my birth plans, made gentle suggestions, brought ice cool towels, offered counter pressure and even when I said "no" and then apologized she softly reassured me that it was ok. I won't ever forget her warm hand on my arm or her gentle words reminding me that this was almost over and to roll my shoulders down. She gently reminded my husband to help with sips of water and helped make sure our other kids stayed calm and quiet...all things that were really important to me in labor and things I listed on my birth plan. When our son was born she made sure all the kids were there to witness it, just how I asked. While we were all soaking him in she was respectful and observant but stepped into action quickly whenever I needed a thing. This was so helpful because it allowed my husband to stay present in the moment and not worry about anything. After I got out of the pool she helped dry me off, got all of my post partum things ready and helped put my diaper on (something so simple but so impactful) The care she took into making sure all was perfect will never be forgotten and our family truly loves and ADORES Sarah! Our younger kids call her Grandma Sarah.
The birth photos she captured are my FAVORITE pictures ever! While it's true, "you'll never regret hiring a doula" but THE doula you need to hire is Sarah! HANDS DOWN! I can never say enough praises for her! We love you Sarah!!!
