For my 4th birth I didn’t even think of utilizing a doula until a friend spoke so highly of her doula birth experience. When I asked my OB for a local doula recommendation, I was led to Sabine. This would be my first delivery at this particular hospital and with this particular OB, so I wanted an additional person ‘in my corner’ so to speak. Put simply -Sabine never let me down and exceeded all of my expectations. She was always communicative to my style and flexed herself to my needs and personality with 0 judgement and 100 percent compassion and support of my wants and needs. I respect her approach of customized birth plans based on the mother’s desires and her respect for evidenced based birth and medicine. Sabine came to the hospital where we met in person the first time and instantly we connected. She was able to integrate herself so seamlessly with no awkwardness whatsoever. I am a type A personality so when I needed rest and sleep -she calmly sat with me in the dark during the hour stretches I was able to get rest. She completely met my needs. When I needed a cheerleader and someone to relay what the MD and RN’s were saying / doing, she was that liaison as well. Sabine was willing to do anything I needed to feel confident and comfortable prior to and during my delivery. She also kindly brought a sweet gift upon her arrival. One of the things I most enjoyed was her extremely detailed birth summary that she emailed a couple of days following my birth. It was incredibly accurate and I couldn’t believe she captured all of those specific moments. It’s a wonderful memory to be able to read again and again and was a true depiction of what actually happened for me to reference later. I highly recommend a doula and I highly recommend Sabine. Second to none.
