Working with Kendra was the BEST decision we made in regards to our birth plan. I do not think I could have managed an unmedicated home birth without her. Leading up to birth we had two meetings with Kendra and each one left us feeling more confident she was going to be a key part of our experience. She made us feel prepared and calm about the whole process. She has a TON of resources - from educational items to recipes to exercises. Our birth plan felt so complete and comprehensive that I knew no matter where we ended up (home or hospital) we would have the right resources for our care team to follow our wishes. Kendra is also extremely responsive and was always available for texts and calls, no matter how big or small the question/concer.
I had a fast labor and as soon as Kendra arrived she helped with positioning and (the most crucial!!) counter pressure. I almost literally collapsed into her arms with a contraction and relief as she walked in the door. It was so comforting to have a familiar face and someone I trusted to help me. Kendra has such a calming and warm presence, which is exactly what I needed. She was able to speak to me in a way that was helpful AND soothing, while also directing my husband and other care team members. I'm pretty sure I left bruises on her hands and arms from squeezing her so tightly!
I seriously credit Kendra with my ability to get through an unmedicated birth. If we have more kids we definitely want Kendra there for any future labor/deliveries! She is truly amazing and her passion for this work is evident in everything she does. We can't thank her enough!
