Heather left our house after our post partum check in and my husband quipped, “Heather was my favorite part of the birth.” I think that about sums up our experience with Heather. As first time parents we didn’t know what to expect. I wanted a doula as support during my hopeful natural birth but also as support for my husband.
From the beginning, Heather was extremely professional. She was punctual and came prepared. As a mother herself she has a very nurturing spirit about her. I appreciated her periodic check ins over the course of my pregnancy. I felt very supported and cared after.
Our birth went completely the opposite of how I prepared and envisioned. Instead of a birth center/possible home birth I ended up at the hospital with an epidural. I had not prepared for that route and was so grateful for Heather’s presence. She asked the questions I wasn’t prepared to ask and was knowledgeable support. I didn’t feel like any procedure was forced on me and that I had full understanding of everything I gave consent to with Heather’s help.
Heather played a huge role in the joyful and peaceful birth for which we had been praying. We are so grateful for her and we couldn’t be happier with our decision to hire her as our doula. Thank you Heather!!
