Justine and the team at Midwest Doulas are beyond exceptional, professional, compassionate and committed to their clients’ and their family’s well being, even before and beyond the birth. When my pregnancy took a turn I didn’t expect, and it was clear I would need a c-section, I was initially devastated. Justine helped me to feel confident advocating for myself and my health care. She recommended an OB who was wonderful and kind even though I was transferring care late in the game. During my c section she stayed with me when my husband had to be with baby for medical reasons after the surgery and they were stitching me up. If it hadn’t been for her I would have been extremely anxious and distraught at being separated from my baby and husband. After she stayed with us until we were comfortable and baby was fed. Because of her I am able to look back at the birth as intense but very positive. At our post partum visit she was still committed to my family’s well being and set us up with a post partum doula that came a few nights later. Allie stayed all night with our baby and we got 8 uninterrupted hours of sleep. It was just what we needed to get through those first couple hard weeks. These women are so amazing I wish we were having more kids just to be able to work with them again!
