I was a little unsure about the idea of a doula when my wife first mentioned it, but I am so thankful that Emily was with us through the final stages of pregnancy and then for labor and delivery.
After meeting Emily for the first time, my wife and I knew we had made a great choice to work with her. She is a wealth of knowledge and brought multiple things to our attention that we wouldn't have discussed prior to delivery otherwise. She wanted us to have as much information as possible, so we could make educated decisions when it came time to deliver our first child.
As I anticipated, Emily was an amazing support to my wife during the entire process of labor and delivery. She encouraged my wife in ways that I couldn't, so the two of us were able to team up and encourage from different perspectives.
What I did not anticipate was how supportive Emily would be for me. She helped me to be a better support person for my wife by suggesting ways to comfort throughout the process.
My wife and I are so grateful that Emily was with us for this exciting experience. She was reassuring and gave us both confidence going into the final stages of pregnancy. Without question, we will be working with Emily during future pregnancies.
