My husband and I cannot say enough good things about Emily! She was a blessing to have for our first birth. Emily is passionate about a positive birthing experience and informed consent; we will use her for future birthing experiences.
As a soon to be Mom, there were only so many articles I could read, podcasts that I could listen to, or parenting classes I could take. As the time approached to have our first child, I knew that I we needed additional support to make educated decisions. After our first meeting with Emily, i knew she was the perfect fit for us. She took her time in explaining the birthing process and what each step looked like. She also covered the “What if” scenarios so we could understand our options before/if we were placed in the moment to make a decision.
This leads to the other factor that reinforced Emily being a great fit for us, by helping us to understand what falls under informed consent. There are many protocols in place and generic practices that may not be applicable to you and your birthing experience; she helped my husband and I understand that it is our birthing experience and wherever we choose to give birth, we are paying for a service and do not have to do anything we are uncomfortable with.
Having been educated by Emily and knowing she was going to be in the labor room with us as an advocate for our soon-to-be bundle of joy, made me and my husband feel more confident for labor. Emily was a great fit for our family and I’m sure she will be for yours too.
