Jill was a fantastic choice of doula for us when we delivered our son. This was our first child and despite (or perhaps partially because of COVID) we didn’t know what to expect during labor and delivery so wanted someone there who had experience. Prior to delivery, Jill was great getting to know us virtually, answering questions, and assuaging my fears. She was also great when we met in person prior to delivery, taking COVID precautions seriously. If she didn’t know the answer to something (which was rare) she knew someone who did and reached out. When my OB recommended an induction, she was helpful in talking through whether and when to induce without pressuring me one way or another. For a first time mom, my labor went really fast - from first contraction to delivery was 9 hours. Jill was there in plenty of time and was super helpful in positioning me to minimize pain and help the baby descend. I ultimately got an epidural, which was part of my plan, and Jill was so necessary during pushing. She was especially valuable in talking through what the nurses were recommending and suggesting questions to ask or commenting if something seemed off. The hospital was extremely busy when I was there, so having someone as knowledgeable as Jill in my corner the whole time was priceless and made the birth experience super positive. Also, the postpartum visit with Jill was a helpful time to reflect with her on the birth experience and the food she brought was delicious. I highly recommend Jill.
