My husband and I will be forever grateful we were able to work with Shannon for the birth of our third child. I was in a unique position and was hoping for a vbac after two C-sections and I am happy to tell you I was successful and while Shannon reminds me how great a job I did and how I did all the hard work, I know we needed her through this journey. My husband loved knowing how to make me more comfortable this time around throughout the end of my pregnancy as well as my labor and delivery (I did labor with my first and ended with an emergency cs). Shannon was a wonderful educator and helped us fully understand all the options for myself and our baby. She never pushed her own opinions on us. Because of my education I felt more empowered this time around and knew how to stand up for what I wanted if needed. When it came to the delivery itself my husband held my hand the whole time and Shannon was right behind him and stepped in when needed and was so encouraging and kept telling me and my husband how great of a job we were doing. Because I was going for a vbac after two cs we knew I had to get pretty far along at home to ensure the dr would let me go. We were able to get to a point where I felt the urge to push at home (and did twice!) and while that wasn’t the plan, I know we couldn’t have done that without Shannon. When I got to the hospital she did a great job reminding me I was in charge. My baby was safe and healthy and I was too and I could have the delivery I wanted and I did!! Our baby was born 45 min after getting to the hospital. My only regret is seriously not having her for our other deliveries as it’s possible they could have gone very differently and been a much more positive experience for me. I would recommend her 100% to anyone expecting in the area!
