My wife and I welcomed our first-born to the world with the help and support of Ale from Midwest Doulas. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical about hiring a doula. I figured I'd be able to offer enough support for my wife during the birth. Once Ale showed up at the hospital late at night, that skepticism vanished. She arrived shortly after we contacted her and went straight to work. Her positive impact was felt immediately. Our birth was not quick and easy, so she played an essential role in it. Ale stayed at the hospital, even taking a nap in her vehicle, until our daughter Juniper was born. Her knowledge of different techniques and positions was something I could not offer. She had a calming energy to her and gave helpful verbal and moral support the entire time.
