After being referred to her by a friend, we hired Melanie for our placenta encapsulation. From the first conversation, Melanie was always very supportive, encouraging, sweet and empowering. She went above and beyond the service she was retained for, always texting to see how we were doing, answering questions any time of the day about pregnancy an birth, and being extremely supportive pre and post partum.
We were so impressed by her, that we decided to have her at home for support during labor. Little did we know that our baby had a plan of his own, which unfortunately sent us to the hospital very early and didn't allow us to labor at home as we had planned. However, even when circumstances changed, she stayed in touch with us throughout the whole process (over 24+ hrs of labor), encouraging me and guiding my husband as labor took its twists and turns.
The work she does with the placenta is AMAZING. We received pictures through the whole process, and so much information regarding our placenta! She treats it with so much love and respect, it made us appreciate this process so much more. Also, it has been a month since I have been taking the placenta capsules and I believe it's one of the reasons why my milk production is good, and why I've recovered so fast after giving birth.
We are truly so so thankful for having crossed paths with Melanie and having had her support through such a vulnerable and special process. It is not often that you meet someone who is this passionate about what she does, this knowledgeable and this genuine. More than a doula, Melanie has become a friend, and we look forward to having her be part of our journey next time around!
