I have a hard time picturing what birth would have been like had Sara not been a part of our team. My husband and I do not have adequate words for how essential her presence was for us. From the beginning of our relationship with Sara, she was a constant source of comfort. She empowered me to switch my provider when I wasn't satisfied with my care. She gave us countless resources to help us make informed decisions and never pushed us in any direction. When my labor started, it was an atypical experience for a first time mom, and I was terrified and in pain. Sara counseled us through everything, helping us feel confident in our decision to head to the hospital earlier than expected, and starting comfort measures the second she walked through the hospital doors. I was so relieved to see her. When labor wasn't progressing, she worked seamlessly with the midwives and nurses to come up with an action plan, and wouldn't let me give up. She helped me and my husband make informed decisions and reassured me when I was beginning to doubt myself. When an emergency c-section became our safest option, Sara was an absolute godsend. She made us feel safe and supported, and helped us have a family-centered birth despite the change in plans. We can't fathom what our experience would have been without Sara. We have so much love and admiration for her calming presence, knowledge, support, attentiveness, and compassion. Thank you Sara!
