Shannon fulfilled all of our hopes and expectations during my pregnancy, labor and delivery, and through postpartum. She was such a calming presence through every interaction; we felt such a genuine connection to her, because she made it a priority to truly get to know us and our wishes for giving birth. My labor and delivery experience didn't go as expected; surprise - what pregnancy does :)) and Shannon adapted on a dime, coaching us through along the way.
Something very important we realized through the process: she was just as helpful and encouraging to me as the pregnant person as she was to my husband. As the person giving birth, I didn't give too much thought to the fact that my support person needs reassurance, support, and understanding.
