From talking me through early stages of labor over the phone at five in the morning, to listening and offering affirmation and advice when I was convinced I would never be able to breastfeed, she was a constant gentle, honest voice reminding us that we were doing great while doling out practical advice about preparing for birth, postpartum concerns, and our daughter's feeding and sleeping challenges. She checked in with us regularly during that chaotic newborn time and made herself available by text and video call whenever we needed her.
