Kelly was everything I wanted in a doula and more. I wanted a hospital birth with as little medical intervention as possible. Kelly was recommended to me by my OB. In fact, she was the only doula my OB would work with. She said Kelly was amazing to work with, that all the nurses and medical staff knew her and she worked seamlessly with them. My OB was right!
Kelly is dedicated to evidenced-based practices, and gave us great information from our very first consultation! She's calm, compassionate, and direct. We had a consultation with her, texted a bit throughout my (uncomplicated) pregnancy, met with her a few weeks before I gave birth, and then had her come to the house when labor really started.
I spent a long time in early labor, but was very comfortable in early and active labor thanks to the TENS unit I received from Kelly. Once in labor, she gave me great coaching over the phone, and came over an hour later as my contractions picked up. She heard my concerns and desire to go to the hospital. She immediately started directing my husband how to prepare for transport and what to expect (during the time of COVID). She took the reigns in a way that let my husband take care of what he needed to, and be fully present and supportive during what can only be described as the worlds worst car ride (in transition!). My birth was fast and furious, and I would have been very stressed with all the questions and swirling wires and options had Kelly not been there. Kelly worked completely seamlessly with the hospital staff and helped me understand some of the questions and decisions. I'm so grateful she also wrote down our birth timeline!
Through her VIP package I was hooked up with one of the best IBCLCs in the valley. I felt fully supported from pregnancy through early postpartum with Kelly and the IBCLC!
From my experience I can say that if you want a non-medical feeling hospital birth, Kelly is the doula to hire!
