Barbie is a kind, gentle and warm person. During pregnancy, she was an incredible resource, providing information in an unbiased way with no agenda. There is so much information available online and it was helpful to have Barbie direct me to sources that she had vetted as reliable and fact-based. I found it so comforting to call on Barbie’s wealth of experience — I often found myself wanting confirmation that whatever I was experiencing was normal.
At the birth of our son, Barbie was a calming and reassuring presence. She met us in the hospital at 2:00 am and stayed through the birth the following afternoon. I feel like she’s truly “seen it all” and having someone in the room who could calmly support both my husband and me was invaluable for both of us. Postpartum, Barbie is now a trusted advisor on all things relating to my recovery and infant care. My husband and I weren’t sure what we wanted or needed postpartum, and we appreciate how flexible Barbie has been with our postpartum care. Having Barbie in our home a couple of times a week has helped my trust my own judgement and intuition when it comes to caring for my baby (not to mention, get a couple extra hours of sleep!) I love handing my son over to her knowing that he’ll be totally relaxed and happy in her care.
It’s also important to note that being pregnant, giving birth, and caring for a newborn during COVID has been uniquely challenging. Every step of the way, we have felt very comfortable knowing that Barbie is taking appropriate precautions to help keep us all safe. We can’t recommend her highly enough!
