Thanks so much Kelly for all your encouragement and support. I wanted an unmedicated VBAC and you helped me achieve this goal. With COVID going on we had to make the tough decision to either have Kelly or my husband in the room during Labor and Delivery. We felt confident in Kelly and knew I would be in the best care with her so the tough decision was made to have Kelly in person and my husband was FaceTime’d in. Before Kelly arrived I was nervous and scared since they were inducing me with Pitocin and placing a cook catheter in to help me dilate. After about 1/2 hour of having the cook catheter in I told myself to just get the epidural because it was painful. Kelly arrived soon after that thought and immediately I felt peace. She was by my side the entire time and showed me how to manage the pain from within. Her breathing with me was a huge help and she never had me in one position. All the moving around helped pass time and I wasn’t focusing on the pain. It’s almost like she knew exactly what my body needed and I’m glad I trusted in her. Labor pains started around 9am and by 4pm I was ready to push. After 10 mins of pushing my baby boy was here. I cannot be more happy with the support Kelly gave me. She helped me feel empowered and capable of trusting my body to do what it was designed to do. For that I’m forever grateful. In my personal opinion a Doula should be there at all births just like a Midwife or Doctor. They make a HUGE difference and work hand in hand with the nurses. I could tell there was much respect between the medical staff and Kelly because they all worked together to make sure I was in the best and safest care. Thanks Kelly for knowing your gifts and helping others achieve their goals during labor. Your an amazing Woman!
