My husband and I truly benefited from and appreciated the partnership of Midwest Doulas. Throughout our pregnancy, Justine and Ale were a responsive and approachable resource. We could text or call them with any question about what we were experiencing and if they didn’t immediately have the answer, they reached out through their network to find the answer or pointed us to evidence-based sources to get the information we needed. Through our multiple prenatal sessions, my husband and I grew more knowledgeable about our birthing options and in confidence about our ability to take on the challenge as a team. We were particularly impressed with how Justine and Ale adapted their services due to the challenges surrounding COVID-19, making sure we felt as supported as ever, even during times when we could not meet in person. When our big day arrived, Justine and Ale were just a text away. Ale coached me through my labor with sensitivity and skill, encouraging me and engaging my husband throughout the whole experience. Her presence helped me to feel safe and empowered and also kept me focused on the hard work my body was doing to bring our baby into the world. She helped make it possible to labor as long as possible from the comfort of our home. Looking back, I cannot imagine giving birth without my husband and Ale with me through it all. Even after the birth, Justine and Ale have continued to check in on my husband and me and our new baby girl. I know I can count on their support in the weeks and months ahead. I am so grateful to them, and wholeheartedly recommend Midwest Doulas for an informed and empowered birth experience.
