Christine assisted in the birth of my first child in the spring of 2019. She met with my husband and me twice before the delivery, and gave us a lot of material to help us prepare for the birth experience we hoped to have. She also provided plenty of text/phone support in the last few weeks before my son was born. My pregnancy was textbook, and very easy, but in the last month I tested positive for Group B Strep. Christine helped me think through my options, and helped me remain calm. The week before I gave birth I passively dialted to 5cm. My labor was very fast and intense. The time from when my water broke without warning, until my son was born was only 5.5 hrs. For most of that time I was on my side tethered to monitors and hooked up to an IV for the antibiotics recommended for the Group B Strep (not at all what I had hoped for). My husband supported me with backrubs, and Christine was right next to my head giving support in anyway I needed, from aroma therapy to answering questions and giving ice chips. Once my son was born she stayed with me while I was stitched up (2nd degree tearing), and made sure my son and I were able to breastfeed right away. Perhaps even more helpful was all the phone and text support after my son was born. Early postpartum was very very hard for me, the lack of sleep was almost too much. She was there giving me a ton of information about baby sleep and breast feeding. She also visisted us, and was such a huge encouragement. Hiring Christine, and having the peace of mind knowing she was there for me before, durring and after birth made a huge difference in my stress levels. She was kind, patient and attentive. I can't say enough how grateful I am that she was there to help us. We were blessed to have the birth experiece we had prepared and hoped for, and Christine was a huge part of that. Thank you Christine!!!!
