From the moment I met Sara to interview her, I just knew she would make the perfect support person in the birth of our daughter. Not only is Sara a mama of 3 babies (not really babies anymore) with different birth stories for her children but she has attended nearly 500 births as a doula. She has vast experience in birth, she knows the ins and outs of local hospitals and personnel and she did an amazing job supporting our family in transitioning to a family of 4.
After the birth of my first baby, I suffered from PPA and PTSD due to an unplanned, hospital transfer (from birthing center) and subsequent c section. I was not prepared for the hardships I endured as a result of this birth experience with my first on top of the challenges new parents face. I knew for our second I needed more support because I longed for a VBAC and I experienced prodromal labor for days with my first. With my second I was in off and on early labor for about 2 weeks (prodromal labor) and Sara was amazing at supporting me, encouraging me when I felt defeated and keeping me on course to achieve a successful VBAC. Sara also supported me through changing my pain management plans when active labor came on FAST!
Leading up to the birth Sara was very responsive, offered great advice and support. There were several days we thought Sara might be at another birth if I was to go into active labor and she always had backup support to help me if I needed it. She is professional and overall a great resource and person to support any laboring person.
Sara, can't thank you enough for helping achieve the VBAC of my dreams with my daughter. The 4th trimester this second time around has brought nothing but happy tears and celebration. I feel so darn good mentally and physically because of the coaching I received during my daughters birth! Can't recommend Sara enough!
