Jill was our doula for our first birth, and it was so great to have her on our team!
When I first found out I was pregnant, I was really excited, but also terrified of the birthing process. I did a lot of research and found that I wanted to try for an unmedicated birth, and learned that a doula was a going to be a essential to help us acheive the birth we wanted. We did an initial call with Jill and I knew she would be a good fit. I got off the phone feeling empowered. Throughout pregnancy Jill answered any questions we had, and I really felt like nothing was too trivial or small to ask.
Because of the coronavirus, we thought for a while that Jill might not be allowed in the hospital. We decided to plan on laboring at home as long as possible, with Jill's support, and then we'd go to the hospital and she'd help via video call or phone once we got there. Fast forward to the day I went into labor, and we found out that doulas were going to be allowed once again! I was so excited. Jill was such a great support during labor, her upbeat and positive attitude really helped lighten the mood and make the time go faster. All of our nurses were great, but with so many people in and out, it was nice to just focus on what Jill was saying and follow her lead. She also took photos for us during the birth, and I will treasure those forever.
I highly recommend Jill as a doula, she was such an asset to our birth team and I felt so much more secure having her support!
