My husband and I were trying for two years before we were blessed to be pregnant with our son. We attended a doula meet and greet "speed dating style" and interviewed over 10 doulas. Some were great but something felt like there was something else missing. We asked the coordinator if we could interview one more doula before the interviews wrapped up and that's when we met Cayla. From the moment we spoke to Cayla, it was like instant chemistry! I immediately had a gut feeling that she was the doula for us. Her calm manner, informative answers, and overall her presence gave us the "good vibe" we've been searching for!
We attended Cayla's private childbirth education and breastfeeding classes and not only were they so informative, but it gave us much more confidence and helped prepare us so much more going into labour and breastfeeding.
I don't know how i could have done my labour without Cayla there. I called her the morning of my water breaking and kept her updated throughout the whole process. She met with us at the hospital after having to get induced. Labour was pretty intense for me, over 30 hours, and 24 of those hours was unmedicated, which were my wishes that we discussed with Cayla. She was absolutely amazing. We had discussed and practiced different techniques to help with going through labour and the contractions without medications and she guided me through it the whole time. Without her guidance and support I'm not sure I would be able to go through those contractions without pain medications!!! We ended up with a C-section due to my son having medical distress but Cayla touched base the day after surgery and met our son when we came back home.
Cayla, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you is not enough to let you know how much we appreciate you. You are an amazing doula, and an amazing person. We could not be more grateful for you.
