Jessica arrived when we were in the early stages of labour (first baby, planned home birth.) At that point I was not coping well but was only at 3cm dilated! Being the first time, my partner and I felt a little lost, but when Jessica walked in I instantly felt more calm and knew that everything was under control, that she would lead us through this and everything would be ok. She was able to read my energy throughout labour and really seemed to know, without having to ask, what was needed in each changing moment. She also helped give my partner the confidence he needed to step in and support me, which was HUGE and made labour such a bonding and strengthening experience for our relationship. She is experienced, knowlegable and strong, but most of all can hold space for others to find their own way through this incredible life changing experence. We were able to complete the birthing process at home and really attribute that to the support we had from her and our midwife. I also don't know how I would have survived the days post birth (in the middle of the pandemic) without Jessica. She was available to us all hours and quick to respond and show up when needed. We had some difficulties with breastfeeding but were able to stick with it thanks to the support we had from her. She truly is an expert in the field and knows what it is a baby is needing (and great at passing on that knowledge.) We are forever grateful!
